Acetaminophen Injection®
Generic name: Acetaminophen
Dosage form: 6.7 mL injectable solution containing 150 mg acetaminophen per mL
Drug class: Analgesic
Indications: This medicine is used to reduce pain and fever.
Acetaminophen is an analgesic medicine. It produces pain-relieving effects by activating certain pathways in the central nervous system. It also reduces fever by inhibiting the body’s temperature-regulating center in the hypothalamus.

6.7 mL injectable solution containing 150 mg/mL acetaminophen.
Acetaminophen may be injected without dilution. If dilution is needed, it may be diluted with 5% dextrose or 0.9% sodium chloride.
This medicine is for intravenous infusion only.
The diluted medicine should be infused over 15 minutes.
- Liver enzyme levels in patients with reduced liver function

- Do not use this medicine if there is a history of hypersensitivity to acetaminophen or any other component of the formulation.
- This medicine is contraindicated in severe liver failure or severe active liver disease.
- Total acetaminophen intake from all sources — prescription, over-the-counter, and combination products — and all routes of administration — oral, intravenous, and rectal — should not exceed 4 grams per day.
- Use with caution in people with favism / G6PD deficiency, liver dysfunction, or reduced intravascular volume due to causes such as bleeding or dehydration.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using acetaminophen during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
It is recommended that acetaminophen be used at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest possible duration to treat the mother while protecting fetal health.
Acetaminophen is excreted in breast milk. Use at recommended doses is generally not contraindicated during breastfeeding.
Like all medicines, acetaminophen may cause unwanted side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Possible side effects include:
- Muscle spasm
- Itching
- Pain at the injection site
- Gastrointestinal problems such as constipation
- Abnormal respiratory sounds and blood pressure changes, including increased or decreased blood pressure and peripheral edema in adults
- Electrolyte disturbances
Consult your doctor or pharmacist about using acetaminophen together with other medicines or supplements.
Each package contains 10 vials.
- Store unopened vials at controlled room temperature, 20–25°C.
- The medicine may be used until the end of the month stated in the expiry date on the package. Do not use or store expired medicines.
