Indications: This medicine is used to treat various bacterial infections.
Wellatrix® (Levofloxacin) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the fluoroquinolone class that prevents bacteria from multiplying.
Wellatrix® is used in the treatment of various bacterial infections, including intra-abdominal, bone, respiratory, urinary, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as some systemic infections.

Take Wellatrix® exactly as prescribed by your doctor. To achieve the best therapeutic response, do not decrease or increase the dose or duration of treatment without consulting your doctor.
Be sure to take Wellatrix® with a glass of water, with or without food. Avoid taking orange juice with this medicine.
Drink enough water while taking this medicine.
There should be at least a 2-hour interval between taking Wellatrix® and multivitamins, iron, calcium, or zinc supplements, sucralfate, and antacid syrups such as aluminum Mg-S or magnesium hydroxide.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If less than 8 hours remain until your next dose, do not take the missed dose. Avoid taking 2 doses at the same time or taking an extra dose.
If you take more than the recommended amount, contact your doctor.
- White blood cells
- Signs of infection
- Signs and symptoms of tendinopathy, such as tendon pain, swelling, inflammation, or rupture, and/or peripheral neuropathy
- Signs and symptoms of blood sugar disturbances, especially in patients with diabetes
- Skin rash and signs and symptoms of allergic reactions
- Function of different parts of the body, including kidneys, liver, and blood, should be monitored periodically.
- The possibility of crystal formation in the urine should be checked.
- Changes in mental status
- History of hypersensitivity to Levofloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin, or any other components of the formulation
- History of tendonitis or tendon rupture following the use of quinolone antibiotics
- History of myasthenia gravis
- Use sunscreen and protective clothing while taking this medicine.
- This medicine should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, and dose adjustment is necessary.
- The risk of side effects from this medicine is higher in elderly patients. Therefore, these patients should be monitored more closely. If possible, this medicine is preferably not prescribed to patients over 65 years of age.
- The risk of side effects, including tendon rupture, is higher in children. Therefore, this medicine should be used with greater caution in children.
- If you have symptoms of high or low blood sugar, such as dizziness, rapid breathing or heartbeat, confusion, drowsiness, weakness, flushing, headache, unusual thirst or hunger, frequent urination, tremor, or sweating, contact your doctor.
- If widespread allergic reactions occur, with symptoms such as redness, swelling, blistering and peeling of the skin, eye redness, or sores in the mouth, throat, nose, or eyes, seek medical care immediately.
- Levofloxacin may increase the risk of diarrhea caused by Clostridioides difficile. If you have symptoms such as stomach pain, very loose and watery stool, or bloody stool, contact your doctor immediately.
- If you have a fast or abnormal heartbeat or fainting, contact your doctor.
- This medicine should be prescribed with greater caution in patients with favism.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you plan to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Levofloxacin.
Levofloxacin crosses the placenta. This medicine is also excreted into breast milk. The decision to use this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be made based on the disease, the benefits of using the medicine for the mother, and its potential harms to the infant.
Like all medicines, alongside its desired therapeutic effects, this medicine may cause some unwanted side effects; however, these effects do not occur in everyone. Some of the more common possible side effects of this medicine include:
- Insomnia, headache, and dizziness
- Stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, and indigestion
Consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding the use of Levofloxacin together with other medicines or supplements.
Each package contains 5 tablets, 1 blister of 5 tablets.
- Store the medicine below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
- The medicine may be used until the end of the month stated in the expiration date on the package. Avoid using or keeping expired medicines.
- Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
- Keep the medicine in its original packaging until use.
